The Pearl is a luxury hotel within the Heartfulness meditation center in Hyderabad, India. The hotel functions to host guests during the retreats and conferences taking place in the ashram. During its construction, I was commissioned to design the logo for the hotel that would be present throughout the property as well as its online channels.
The name "The Pearl" is meant to invoke a sense of purity and serenity. Our primary inspiration came from the Heartfulness founder, Shri Ram Chandra, who embodied this condition of purity during his life, so we chose to incorporate his handwriting into the hotel's logo. He primarily wrote in Hindi and Farsi, but we were able to find a few handwritten English letters to pull from samples from.
The logo is now displayed prominently outside of the property and is a key component of the hotel's brand.
