The øther commissioned me to create a promotional illustration to embody the mother energy of ‘the village’ for Mother’s Day. I incorporated motifs from Kantha embroidery to depict scenes featuring designs from their latest collection.
'Nurturing energy comes from many relationships — as kids of immigrants, we know that it was the aunties, uncles, grandparents, peers, neighbors — the whole village that helped shape you into who you are today. the øther has been crafted through the disparate traditions of the people around us who have given us love, support and nourishment to keep going.'
